We are on the lookout for a manager at Whakahi Dairies. The farm is well located at Longbush, just 10 minutes from Invercargill.   The contour is flat and is split by SH1 with an underpass for access. The farms 550 cows are milked through a  40 aside herringbone shed which is centrally sited with the longest cow walk being approximately 1,500 metres. 

Down here in Southland, we milk more than 16,200 dairy cows across 22 dairy farms, producing over 6.5 million kilograms of milk solids every year. About you 

It goes without saying that you’ll have a passion for farming. We expect you’ll be dogged, happy to  challenge our thinking, present new ideas and always looking to implement improvements. You’ll want to  monitor, measure and report so we know how our business is looking and understand how we can take it  higher still. 

You’ll be experienced with cows and the day-to-day running of a farm. You’ll know how farming works and  will be able to identify problems that need solving, areas where improvements can be made and have an  eye for the future. It’s all about happy cows and happy people, and you’ll be a champion of both.
