Down here in Southland, we milk more than 16,200 dairy cows across 22 dairy farms, producing over 6.5 million kilograms of milk solids every year. We are looking for a manager/contract milker for our 280 ha unit at Edendale. The 54 bail rotary shed (with protract and in-shed feeding) milks 775 cows. Well located close to Edendale with good  infrastructure including 2 herd homes (250 cows). A well set up farm with heaps of potential to  improve production 

About you 

It goes without saying that you’ll have a passion for farming. We expect you’ll be dogged, happy to  challenge our thinking, present new ideas and always looking to implement improvements. You’ll want to  monitor, measure and report so we know how our business is looking and understand how we can take it  higher still. 

You’ll be experienced with cows and the day-to-day running of a farm. You’ll know how farming works and  will be able to identify problems that need solving, areas where improvements can be made and have an  eye for the future. It’s all about happy cows and happy people, and you’ll be a champion of both.
